Description: For the first of our special Women In Horror Month events for 2017, we’ll be screening GOODNIGHT MOMMY. This beautifully shot, disturbing and quite gruesome horror is a German language / Austrian production released in 2014 and the debut feature film from writer/director team Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala.
After returning home covered in bandages from presumed plastic surgery procedures, mother doesn’t seem like herself to her two young twin boys. They become increasingly convinced the one person they trust the most is not actually their mother and react accordingly.. In addition to making the audience feel afraid for the children, Goodnight Mommy also effectively highlights fears felt by many women – feeling alien and alone as her own sons reject her and deem her a threat to their safety.
The night will kick off at 7.30pm with an introduction from Mel discussing the film, as well as an overview of Women In Horror and the significance of the Women In Horror movement to celebrate and showcase the achievements of women in horror!
We look forward to seeing all the women and the men on this night..
Bob, Matt, David, Mel & Adam
